3 Releases To Improve Hip Mobility

It’s no secret that hip mobility plays a major role in how we perform and feel, both on and off the bike. Without adequate hip mobility, we often become stiff and restricted over time, which can eventually contribute to discomfort in areas like the low back and knees.

This video covers 3 releases for different muscles around the hip that (outside of a mobility assessment - we do that too) can serve as an excellent starting point for restoring hip mobility, improving hip function, and reducing unnecessary tension and pain.

I emphasize “starting point” because these releases are only one piece of the process. Releases without proper mobility and strength work afterward — or mobility and strength work without first doing these releases — aren’t nearly as effective on their own.

If you finish these releases and aren’t sure where to go next with mobility and strength work, don’t hesitate to reach out.
